The milling and processing equipment used within the plant is of a world class standard and was built by experienced designers and contractors, incorporating technology used in facilities in the United States and Europe. In addition, the facility has incorporated a co-generation power plant to produce the electricity and steam required in the various processes.
The production process is summarized in the chart below. The basic raw material is wheat, but other starch/sugar bearing components (such as barley, corn or starch) can be utilized in the ethanol part of the plant. Three sequential and integrated processes are undertaken to maximize the value of the components in the raw materials. On the basic level, numerous products are produced - bakery and industrial flour, fuel ethanol, vital wheat gluten (for the bakery industry), carbon dioxide and various forms of high protein animal feed.
