 This year the demand for ethanol in the Northeast US will exceed 1 billion gallons.
With ethanol replacing MTBE as the approved gasoline additive in other states including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, the Northeast demand for ethanol will grow well beyond one billion gallons per year.
BOC Gases, one of the world’s largest marketers of industrial gases, will construct a liquefaction plant at Riverview to process carbon dioxide, another co-product of the ethanol process.
When expanded to serve NEB, Interstates Commodities, BOC and other users, the rail yard at Riverview is expected to be the largest private yard on the CSX system.
