 NEB will produce 114 million gallons of ethanol per year. NEB is expected to be one of the largest plants of its type in the nation, and first in New York State and the Northeast.
NEB will use approximately 41 million bushels of corn as a feedstock to produce 114 million gallons of ethanol.
It is expected that 8 to 10 million bushels of corn will be purchased from New York farmers.
NEB’s 114 million gallons of ethanol will used as a clean-burning gasoline additive and extender to help states like New York and Connecticut comply with federal clean air mandates. As the alternative fuel market and infra-structure evolve, NEB ethanol will likely also be blended an “E-85” fuel to power “Flex Fuel Vehicles” (FFVs).
